1. What is vector art?
Good question! How can we utilize something to its fullest if we’re not really sure what that something is. So. Let’s discuss. We’ll be brief because this can be complicated if you let it.
A vector image is one of the two major graphic types (the other being bitmap). Vector graphics are made up of many individual objects. Each of these objects can be defined by mathematical statements and has individual properties assigned to it such as color, fill, and outline. Vector graphics are resolution independent because they can be output to the highest quality at any scale. For more on Vector images: Click here.
2. What is the turnaround time?
You can’t rush a great artist, you know. As they say “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. But, when it comes to us getting you the scalable, usable vector artwork you need… somehow we pull through! The turn around time here is one business day… or about 24 hours. If you give us an image on Tuesday afternoon around 1 pm, you’ll probably have it in your in box before noon on Wednesday.
3. How do you handle payments and billing?
Here at Viking Arts, you don’t need to pay for image before you receive it. We’re looking to build a relationship with our customers and give them the opportunity to make sure our work satisfies their needs and receives their end customer’s approval. This is why our billing is done every Tuesday for the prior week’s work. This way you’ll have time to make sure everything is in check before you begin your final output… whatever that may be. The easiest way to set up an account with us is to fill out our Credit Card Authorization form and fax it toll-free to 866-936-6470. Your card will be billed on Tuesdays if you have done any work the prior week and paid in full invoices are emailed out. If for some reason your card doesn’t go through, we’ll generally follow up by email to let you know.

We’re also happy to announce that, if you prefer, a PayPal invoice can be emailed to you every Tuesday. Many consider PayPal to be fast, safe, and easy way to pay their vendors. And, if you’d prefer to pay for every logo as you go, you can use the handy PayPal box located on the right hand side of this very website. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can sign up for one at www.paypal.com.
Many clients ask if we can do billing. Unfortunately, in order to keep our prices as low as they are, we need to avoid any additional overhead here in our offices. The time needed to send invoices, follow up, and file and deposit checks is time not spent preparing logos. We feel it is important to spend our time doing the work you need at the prices you are used to. So rather than raise the prices, it’s easier with our database and software to charge weekly by credit card and e-mail invoices. If you have any questions at all concerning billing, please feel free to contact us at 717-666-3896 or email vabilling@gmail.com
4. Can you vector a Photograph of my dog/grandma/pizza?
Unfortunately, no. Viking Arts is all about converting raster images to vector, but we leave the design work to the graphic designers. We’re more of an “apples come in, apples go out” kind of service. That is to say, we don’t offer Illustration work or graphic design. We just trace what we see without taking any artistic liberties.
5. Do you offer spot colors or PMS colors?
When we’re recreating the image, we simply use the color picker in Adobe Illustrator. Since we do work for companies in all different manners of business, this is the easiest way. Our main goal is to take care of the tedious job of recreating the logo. Once you receive the image back, you can easily change the colors to suit your specific needs.
6. What if I find a mistake in the file or need a corrections?
Not a problem. Please check the files thoroughly when you receive them and if you find any inconsistencies or mistakes, call 717-666-3896 or email us right away so we can take care of the problem. We’ll be sure to make the corrections quickly and get the file back to you as fast as possible.
Do you have a question that’s not listed? Please let us know what it is and we’ll be happy to get back to you.
